Water District 3 update……
December 2025
Your 2026 tax bill will include a debt service for a portion of the debt that is coming due in 2026 for this project. Residents new to public water will see $343.06 added to their tax bill; those residents that currently have public water will see $115.90, $171.53, $105.23, $134.09, depending on their current water district. These funds are strictly to cover the portion of the loan that is coming due in 2026. This is not the end number, final tax bill numbers for the debt service (portion that shows up on the tax bill) will not be calculated until the project is completed.
Anticipated timeline:
The Town of Verona Town Board appreciates your patience as the Verona Water District Extension #3 project comes to conclusion in 2026. This has been a long time in process from the initial questionnaires sent out over the past two decades and more recently in 2018. There have been several setbacks and hurdles including the unknown subsurface issues encountered during construction of the Barge Canal crossing infrastructure, along with the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic and subsequent supply chain shortages, labor/material cost increases.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation with our efforts to serve Verona residents and provide a long-term, reliable source of potable water for your homes and your growing families.

These Public Interest Orders and Resolutions pursuant to NYS Town Law 202-b, explain the need for the pump station upgrade, along with the cost to each districts upgrade. Please note: The cost for the upgrade is being distributed accordingly across all users. Meaning, 80% of the sewer can be directly attributed to the Oneida Indian Nation properties, therefore the balance of the residents on sewer will cover the remaining 20%.
